Foundation Scholarships

State College of Florida Collegiate School Scholarship
Scholarship for SCF Collegiate School graduates enrolling at USF Sarasota-Manatee with an Associate of Arts degree no later than the first semester following graduation from SCFCS.  The scholarship will cover any unmet tuition charges after all federal and state grants and other scholarships have been applied. For a complete listing of the scholarship requirements, please click here.

College of Business

Caldwell Trust Company Scholarship
($500, one time only) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus for a minimum of 6 credit hours (5 hours for Graduate students) as a Business major. Student must have an overall 3.5 GPA.

Clyde G. Nixon International Business Endowment
(Up to $3,000, per semester) To qualify applicants must: be enrolled as an undergraduate degree-seeking student at USF Sarasota-Manatee. Preference will be given to students in the College of Business, complete at least one semester at USF, have at least a 3.0 USF GPA and 3.0 overall GPA, and enroll in a USF College of Business Study Abroad Program.

Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship
(Up to $2,000 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus for a minimum of 6 credit hours (5 hours for Graduate students) as an Accounting major. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA.

The Lindsay Scholarship
(Up to $1,000, fall and spring semesters) Open only to undergraduate students pursuing any major in the College Business or the College of Hospitality & Tourism Leadership. Student must be enrolled in at least six USF Sarasota-Manatee credit hours with an overall GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.

College of Hospitality & Tourism Leadership

Alex and Betty Schoenbaum Scholarship
(Up to $2,000, fall and spring semesters) Open only to graduate, degree-seeking students in the College of Hospitality and Tourism Leadership. Student must be enrolled in at least 5 USF Sarasota-Manatee credit hours and must have an overall GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.

Barbara Michel Endowed Scholarship
(Up to $1,000, fall and spring semesters) Open only to undergraduate students pursuing any major in the College of Hospitality and Tourism Leadership. Student must be enrolled in at least 12 USF Sarasota-Manatee credit hours with an overall GPA of 3.0.  A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.

The Fred and Traudel Martin Scholarship in Hospitality Management Graduate
(Up to $2,000 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (5 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus as a Graduate Hospitality Management major. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.5 GPA. Open to graduate students only.

The Fred and Traudel Martin Scholarship in Hospitality Management Undergraduate
(Up to $1,500 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (6 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus as a Hospitality Management major. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 2.5 GPA. Open to all undergraduate students.

The Lindsay Scholarship
(Up to $1,000, fall and spring semesters) Open only to undergraduate students pursuing any major in the College Business or the College of Hospitality & Tourism Leadership. Student must be enrolled in at least six USF Sarasota-Manatee credit hours with an overall GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.

College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences

Barylski Scholarship
(Up to $1000 annually, Fall and Spring semesters) Student must be undergraduate degree-seeking in a major in the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences and enrolled in at least 6 Sarasota-Manatee hours. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. This fund is in honor of Dr. Robert Barylski, first Dean and CEO of USFSM.

Rawley Silver Scholarship
(Up to $1,000 annually, Fall and Spring semesters) Student must be a degree-seeking student enrolled at least part-time in the Masters in Social Work program at USF Sarasota-Manatee. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. Open to graduate students only.

Scholarship for Criminal Justice Majors
Student must be pursuing a degree in Criminology or Criminal Justice Administration and enrolled at least part time (6 credits undergraduate, 5 credits graduate). A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA.

School of Education

Alpha Delta Kappa – Gamma Omicron Scholarship
This scholarship is for junior and senior-level students in the School of Education. Student must be a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (6 credits) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA.

JSP Educational Foundation Scholarship
(Up to $2,500, fall and spring semesters) Student must be undergraduate degree-seeking and enrolled in at least 6 Sarasota-Manatee hours. Student must be admitted to the School of Education and must be a single parent raising K-16 child(ren). A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA.

Kathleen Thorson Scholarship
(Up to $1,000 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) This scholarship is for junior and senior-level students in the School of Education. Student must be a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (6 credits) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. This fund is in honor of Kathleen Thorson’s 30 years of teaching in elementary education.

McCracken Educators Scholarship
($1000, per semester for up to 5 semesters; total up to $5,000) Student must be a Manatee County resident and a degree-seeking student. A current year FAFSA must be completed and statement of financial need must be submitted. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. Student must provide evidence of leadership position(s) and community service activities.

School of Education Dean’s Scholarship
(Up to $2,600, fall and spring semesters) Student must be degree seeking and accepted into a School of Education degree program and in good standing. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for undergraduate and graduate students. Student must enrolled at least half time (6 credits undergraduate/5 credits graduate) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus.

The William G. Selby and Marie Selby Foundation – Future Educators Program
(Up to $2,000 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (6 credits) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus in the School of Education. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. The semester award will be prorated based on the number of hours enrolled on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. Open to all undergraduate students

College of Science & Mathematics

Koski Family Scholars Fund
Student must be a Pre-Mechanical Engineering student in the 2+2 Mechanical Engineering Program. Student must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at USF Sarasota-Manatee and be a degree-seeking student. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.

Manatee Memorial Scholarship
(Up to $1,000, fall and spring semesters) Manatee Memorial Hospital is providing this scholarship to support students enrolled in the College of Science & Mathematics at USF Sarasota-Manatee. This support is to help students enter a variety of health professions and to prepare them for advanced degrees in the health sciences. This scholarship is open to half-time undergraduate and graduate students. Students must be degree-seeking, have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.

General Scholarships

Air & Energy/Anna Maria Oyster Bar Scholarship
(Up to $1,500 annually, fall and spring semesters) Student must be a Sarasota or Manatee County resident and a degree-seeking student. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must be enrolled at least half time (6 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus and have an overall 3.0 GPA.

Ajax Building Corporation Scholarship
Open only any graduate, degree-seeking students at USF Sarasota-Manatee. Student must be enrolled in at least five USF Sarasota-Manatee credit hours and must have an overall GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.

American Society of Interior Designers Scholars Program
Up to $1,000 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) Student must be a Sarasota or Manatee County resident and a degree-seeking student. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to members of the ASID and/or their families.

Barnes & Noble Scholarship
(Up to $250, one semester) Student must be undergraduate enrolled in 6 Sarasota-Manatee credit hours and be a degree-seeking student. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.

Brunch on the Bay Endowed Scholars/Watts Memorial Scholarship*
(Up to $1,000 annually, fall and spring semesters) Student must be a Sarasota or Manatee County resident and a degree-seeking student. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must be enrolled at least half time (6 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus and have an overall 2.5 GPA. Open to all undergraduate students. *Selected Brunch on the Bay Scholarship recipients from the School of Education will be named Mary and Earl Watts Scholars each academic year.

Sarasota Storm Triathlon Scholarship
(Up to $1,000 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) Student must be enrolled at least half time (6 hours) and be a degree-seeking student. Applicants should document their interest and/or participation in triathlons. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. Triathlon club is willing to provide training/coaching to future tri-athletes. Volunteer support of triathlons is encouraged. Open to all students!

Laurey T. Stryker Scholarship for New Undergraduate Students
(Up to $600, Summer only) Student must be newly admitted for summer as an undergraduate degree-seeking student. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must be enrolled at least half time (6 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus and have a minimum overall 2.75 GPA.

The William G. Selby and Marie Selby Foundation – Selby Achievers Program
(Up to $2,000 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (6 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. The semester award will be prorated based on the number of hours enrolled on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. Open to all undergraduate students.

Veterans

Stoneybrook Masters Scholarship
(Up to $3000 annually, Fall and Spring semesters) Student must be veteran, active duty or reservist, with a minimum 3.0 GPA and proof of honorable discharge. Available to full and part-time graduate students, pursuing all majors, in all colleges, on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.

USFSM Veteran’s Undergraduate Scholarship
Student must be an undergraduate and a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. Student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at USF Sarasota-Manatee and be a degree-seeking student. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Open to all undergraduate students.
