How eTutoring Works (Writing Appointments Only)

When you make your writing appointment, select eTutoring from the drop-down menu that appears in the “Meet Online?” field of the appointment details window. Be sure to attach the paper you need help with. You can do this two ways:

  1. When given the option immediately after saving your appointment information.
  2. By clicking on the yellow folder icon that appears under your name (top-left of your screen) when viewing the writing center schedule.

Your consultant will review your paper and then upload a new file with comments to your appointment. You can retrieve it at any time after your scheduled appointment time has passed. Just click on your appointment time in the schedule and it will appear in the appointment details window, below your previously attached document.

Please note: You do not have to be online for the appointment.

Cancellations and No-Shows

  • Appointments are held until 10 minutes after the the time they are scheduled to begin. After that, the session is opened to students seeking a walk-in.
  • Please cancel as far in advance as possible if you cannot keep your appointment. You can do this using the online scheduler, or by calling LSS or the Academic Resource Desk.
  • Students who cancel up to three appointments, or no-show up to two appointments, may be restricted from scheduling new appointments for the remainder of the semester.
