USFSM BUILDING LIST AND ADDRESSES

The USF Sarasota-Manatee campus facilities opened to students in August 2006. With the capability to serve 5,000 students, the three-story, 134,540 gross-square-foot building provides improved access to higher education for the local community.

Highlights of the campus physical facilities include the following:

In addition to the facilities described above, USF Sarasota-Manatee operates and maintains four (4) one story buildings comprising a total of 18,059 gross-square-feet on a 3.3 acre tract of land located approximately ¼ mile south of the main facilities. These buildings, referred to as the Viking Complex, were constructed in 1959 and purchased by the State of Florida in 1983 for future campus expansion. One (1) of the buildings houses the campus bookstore that a private-sector vendor operates and manages to provide services for USF Sarasota-Manatee and New College of Florida. The remaining four (3) buildings provide administrative support, office space, and storage.

USF Culinary Innovation Lab

The Culinary Innovation Lab at USF Sarasota-Manatee is a state-of-the-art teaching facility that serves as a culinary home for the USFSM College of Hospitality & Tourism Leadership. This facility provides a fully-equipped teaching center for students in the Hospitality Management program, as well as an inviting venue for signature USFSM events, both public and private. This instructional space is comprised of a prep kitchen, culinary labs, an office and restroom facilities.

This 4,217 square foot teaching facility is located in a commercial space within a leased building. The lease agreement specifies a four-year lease term that will expire in December 2017, with a renewal option of four additional years.  Facilities Planning and Management operates and maintains the instructional site in accordance with the terms of the lease agreement.

USF Teaching Labs at Mote Marine Laboratory

The teaching labs at Mote Marine Laboratory provide USFSM students the opportunity to work hands-on with USFSM faculty as well as Mote’s world-class, professional researchers who are engaged daily in real-world science. The physical features of this facility include a biology lab, chemistry lab, lab prep area and student lounge.

USFSM encompasses 5,618 square feet on the second floor of Mote’s Goldstein Marine Mammal Center. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is currently in place between USFSM and Mote Marine. Facilities Planning and Management operates and maintains the instructional site in accordance with the terms of the MOU.
