The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, in partnership with the Evelyn M. Duvall Endowment, is pleased to announce its 2017 Duvall Family Studies Conference: Diversity and Inclusion: Families in Today’s Changing World.
We are seeking presenters of workshops, posters, or panel discussions that address individual or family well-being at any stage of development, and particularly those addressing diversity, inclusion, and social relationships in families. The conference brings together scholars, practitioners, educators, policymakers, advocates, and local and national organizations to enhance the integration of theory, research, and direct practice.
A nationally recognized researcher, clinical social worker and educator will keynote: Dr. Caitlin Ryan, Director of the Family Acceptance Project at San Francisco State University.
Workshops and Panels or Roundtables
We are soliciting proposals for 60-to 90-minute workshops, panels, or roundtable discussions (including time for Q & A and evaluation) that will be offered throughout the conference day afternoon. We welcome themes from any discipline and from a broad range of topics including, but not limited to:
- Social Work
- LGBT+ and other Diversity
- Family Interventions
- Social Justice
- Interdisciplinary Social Sciences
- Administration or Business
- Collaborations among practitioners or agencies/organizations
Posters of similar themes as above will be welcomed; any number of authors may collaborate on a poster. Unless requested, posters will not be peer-reviewed. Students are especially encouraged to submit poster proposals.
