The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee at North Port along with the City of North Port announces a seven-week (approximately 20 hour) Continuing Education course for anyone in a business or nonprofit organization looking to build their social media skills. This non-degree continuing education course earns two USF Sarasota-Manatee Continuing Education Units.
“Crush It: How to Dominate your Market Using Online Power Tools” will be offered online, with two optional face-to-face sessions. This includes a live, in-person introductory workshop at the USFSM North Port Instructional Site, located at 5920 Pan American Blvd. in North Port, Fla., on April 3 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., and a wrap-up session on May 15 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The live sessions will be available for recorded review.
Components of the course include hands-on instruction in Web 2.0 marketing, social media basics, video marketing concepts and the rationale for online marketing via Google+, YouTube, Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest, Twitter and blogs. There are five webinars with live Q&A sessions on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m.
Participants will learn how to create and integrate online social media platforms, the analytics to measure engagement, and gain awareness of technology advancements in social marketing.
The cost is $250 and a certificate of completion will be provided.
The instructor is Tamara “Tami” Patzer, an educator, advocate for social media and online marketing education, and owner of Total Audience Market Immersion, a digital marketing company in southwest Florida. Patzer has an MA in Mass Communications from USF and 14 years of teaching experience at the university and adult education level.
