Several of the University of South Florida’s graduate programs, including four that are offered at USF Sarasota-Manatee, are among the top in the nation according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2012 America’s Best Graduate Schools rankings released Mar. 15. The results will be published April 5.
“These rankings are affirmation of the outstanding scholarship, academic excellence, and global engagement conducted by USF’s faculty and graduate students,” said USF Provost Ralph Wilcox. “It is because of the innovative research and service performed by our top rate professors and talented students that USF is in the forefront of the creation of new jobs in support of Florida’s future economic growth.”
The 2012 rankings include detailed information on more than 1,200 graduate programs in the United States. U.S. News does not update its rankings for every academic program each year, as noted in the list of USF’s current rankings as published in the 2012 edition. The following top-ranked programs are offered at USF Sarasota-Manatee:
• Criminology – #22 (ranked in 2009)
• Education: Overall – #73 (ranked in 2011)
• Business: Part-Time MBA Program – #105 (ranked in 2011)
• Social Work (hosted) – #71 (ranked in 2008)
The 2012 Best Graduate Schools rankings include detailed statistical information on more than 1,200 programs nationwide. In addition to featuring new rankings in five of the largest professional graduate school disciplines (business, law, education, engineering, and medicine), the 2012 rankings also include updated peer-assessment-only rankings for healthcare management, nursing, nursing-anesthesia, nursing-midwifery, physician assistant, public health, rehabilitation counseling, and veterinary medicine.
