USF Sarasota-Manatee gears up to host the Perlman Music Program Winter Residency

As students at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee begin their winter break, music students from all over the country are preparing to spend two weeks on campus for the Winter Residency of the Perlman Music Program.

Led by international concert violinist and conductor, Itzhak Perlman, and his wife and founder of the Perlman Music Program (“PMP”), Toby Perlman, PMP is a one-of-a-kind professional development program for approximately 35 of the most gifted musicians from around the world, ages 12-20+.  PMP students are considered to be the future of classical music.

Thurs, Dec. 30 – 4:30pm, Orchestra Rehearsal;  7:00pm, Works-in-Progress student recital

Sat, Jan. 1 –  No public events

Sat, Jan. 8 – 5:00pm, Celebration Concert* at the Sarasota Opera House

Ticket distribution is available at USF Sarasota-Manatee in the main rotunda during the following times: Monday through Friday, 10am through 2pm; Saturday, 10am through 4pm; closed Sundays.  A maximum of six tickets is available for in person pick-up.  Tickets guarantee seating but are not required to attend events.  Tickets are valid until 5 minutes prior to each performance; at that time, all remaining seats are released to the public.
