USF Sarasota-Manatee faculty to discuss “Living in a Material World”

On Monday, December 19th from 5:30-7pm, Art Center Sarasota will host the discussion “Living in a Material World.”  The public is invited to attend this free event that will discuss whether the current recessionary times may cause a shift from a consumer culture to a culture of caring.  Panelists for this discussion are Richard Martin, Executive Director of the Suncoast Partnership to End Homelessness and Jonathan Scott Perry, PhD, Assistant Professor of History, University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee.  The panel will be moderated by Bonnie Greenball Silvestri, JD, Senior Fellow for Arts, Culture, and Civic Engagement, University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee.
