Understanding Language in Diverse Classrooms: What All Teachers Need to Know

You’re invited to attend Understanding Language in Diverse Classrooms: What All Teachers Need to Know on Friday, February 24th from 5:30-6:45pm in room A217. With the increasing linguistic and cultural diversity of students in U.S. schools, all teachers, regardless of the content area or grade they teach, need research based strategies to support students in developing academic English language proficiency.
In this talk, Louise Wilkinson offers a model of how academic language learning takes place and describes the critical role of teachers in that model.  She will provide examples of materials and sample lessons to help educators  prepare to teach all their students in
diverse classrooms.
