Each Tuesday, we sit down with members of the faculty to discuss their expertise, recent research and some of their accomplishments. This week, USFSM takes a closer look at Dr. Richard Borghesi.
Dr. Borghesi earned a Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 2004 and an MBA from Loyola University in Chicago in 1995. His research interests include corporate finance, corruption, market efficiency, and prediction markets, and he has published in Financial Management, Southern Economic Journal, Finance Research Letters, Journal of Applied Business Research, Journal of Economics and Business, Applied Financial Economics, Applied Economics, and The Journal of Prediction Markets. Dr. Borghesi has taught corporate finance, finance information technology, case problems in finance, efficiency of financial markets, and behavioral finance. Dr. Borghesi founded Rick’s Research Café at USF Sarasota-Manatee. A monthly seminar series, Rick’s Research Café gives USFSM faculty an opportunity to present their unfinished research projects. The goal is to facilitate constructive feedback from cross-disciplinary peers to help the author improve the quality of his/her work prior to publication.
