Superintendent of Manatee County Schools, Tim McGonegal, visits class at USF Sarasota-Manatee

Tim McGonegal, Superintendent of Manatee County Schools, visited an Educational Leadership class recently at USF Sarasota-Manatee.  College of Education Professor, Dr. Lyn Boyer, was excited to have him speak to her class.  “It was a privilege to have Tim McGonegal join us. He shared a unique perspective with my students and our guests that they could only hear from someone in his position. I believe they gained a better understanding of how decisions are made at the district level, and they gained insights about how they can prepare for leadership roles in the future,” she said.  Other participants shared the same sentiment.  “It was an enriching and enlightening opportunity,” said Catherine Day, a student in the Educational Leadership course.  “His candidness and genuine interest in our understanding of the complexities of educational leadership was refreshing. I appreciated his taking time out of a busy weekend to share his unique insights with us.”
