Karen Harris: The Ultimate Guest Experience

USF Sarasota-Manatee alumnus Karen Harris knows that it takes more than a fancy hotel to create the mystique, grandeur, and personalized experience that encompass The Ritz Carlton.   As the Membership Experience Advisor of the Midwest Region for The Ritz Carlton Destination Club positioned at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver, her role is to provide each Member with the world class service that has given the company its reputation as a leader in the hospitality industry.
“This is my dream job – providing the highest level of service in this industry and making sure our guests enjoy their stay,” said Karen.  “My goal is to provide the ultimate in personalized service for each and every request.”
Karen’s career with The Ritz Carlton has spanned the last six years and has moved her from sunny Sarasota, Florida to the island of St Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and finally to Colorado, but the roots of her love for hospitality stem from her degree program at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee and The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.
“Everybody at USF Sarasota-Manatee – from the financial aid advisors to the career services people to the faculty of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management – was extremely helpful.  The flexible class schedules allowed me the opportunity to work full-time and go to school, and the program was excellent at providing true industry experience and knowledge.”
As Karen looks to the future of her career path, she is humbled by the knowledge that she has what she considers “the ultimate dream job.”
“Every opportunity I’ve had for the past six years with The Ritz Carlton has been a direct result of USF Sarasota-Manatee’s School of Hotel and Restaurant Management and the career fair that led me to finding my first position with The Ritz-Carlton, and I’m so thankful for that experience.  ”
