Cybersecurity 101: How Businesses Can Protect Against Hacking
Small businesses are highly vulnerable to hackers. This program, presented by the Institute for Public Policy and Leadership and Biz(941), will discuss why small business computer networks are such easy targets and provide the most common tools to prevent commercial cybercrime. Audience members will leave the session with solid action items that will help protect their business networks and electronic information, including sensitive credit card information, from being compromised.
Panelists include business computer security expert Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu who is the Dean of the School of Hotel & Restaurant Management at USFSM, along with John Jorgensen of Sarasota-based cybersecurity company the Sylint Group, and FBI agent Stacy Arruda, who is in charge of the Tampa Division’s Cyber Crime Program. The event is free and open to the public.
