E-Learning Services Welcomes Alyssa Wahlsmith, E-Learning Intern

Alyssa Internship PicAlyssa is currently a senior at USF Sarasota-Manatee pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Web and Application Development. She began college with the intentions of becoming a teacher but changed her major after realizing the importance of technology in education. After she completes her Bachelor’s degree, she plans to continue her education at USF so that she can receive her Master’s degree in Instructional Technology. She hopes to teach, pursue a career in Instructional Technology and Design and has an interest in creating educational software. She is excited about the opportunity to complete her internship in the E-learning department at USF Sarasota-Manatee.  Alyssa will be a valuable asset to our E-Learning department and will be available to work with students during the Student Proctorio Training sessions.

Proctorio Training for Students

USFSM Students, is your instructor using Proctorio for your online exams?

Proctorio, the new USF online test proctoring service has been implemented in some of our USFSM online, hybrid and face to face courses.  This new software enables students taking tests on Canvas to be proctored.  The software is relatively intuitive and will allow students to take their proctored quiz from any location, using a computer equipped with a camera and microphone and Google Chrome.  Students who would like to learn more about how to use Proctorio can stop by the Information Commons to watch a tutorial and ask questions about the tool.

Proctorio Student Training Sessions

Instructors who would like to implement this new feature will need to add additional information to the course syllabus notifying students that this online proctoring tool will be used in the course. Instructors who would like more information or training with Proctorio can stop by the E-Learning Services office (B342) during Canvas Open Labs.
