Hello wonderful USFSM audience! Canvas has released some new great features this month that will help you with accessibility in the navigation of your course. If you find any glitches with these or other features please let us know. We are here to help you navigate and take advantage of the wonderful world of Canvas.

Learning Mastery Gradebook

CSV Export (New Feature):
Now you can export a CSV report (excel file) of the learning Mastery Gradebook using the export link in the sidebar.  The report displays colums showing the outcome result and the mastery points achieved by each student. If you don’t have the Learning Mastery Gradebook activated, please let us know. We’ll show you how to enable it.

Last Activity View (New Feature):
The people page displays the Last activity for each user in a course. This new feature will help you see how often their students interact with the course.

Calendar 2

Favorite Courses:
This new calendar can display up to 10 calendars at any given time. To manage which calendars you want to see, hover over courses, then click on customize and the select or deselect the courses to show or not show in your calendar.

Settings Menu Update:
When you are inside “Discussions”, besides moving them up or down; now you can click on any discussion gear icon and tell Canvas where to move it within “Discussions”.

Add Module Item Content Window:
The content window that opens when you add anything on a module has changed. The new and bigger window will allow you extensions on longer files and reduce scrolling. Furthermore the option to create a new item will appear at the top of the window and not at the bottom, like it used to be.

Responsive Content in Draft State:
In the new Draft state layout, the modules page is now responsive for smaller screens like tablets or cell phones. Moreover if any of the titles in the module is longer, users can see the entire title by hovering over the text.
