“Cybersecurity 101” offered at USF Sarasota-Manatee

On Thursday, November 3, 2011, the Institute for Public Policy and Leadership at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM) invites you to attend “Cybersecurity 101” at 4pm in the Selby Auditorium on campus, 8350 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.

This program will discuss why small business computer networks are such easy targets and provide the most common tools to prevent commercial cybercrime. Audience members will leave the session with solid action items that will help protect their business networks and electronic information, including sensitive credit card information, from being compromised.

Panelists include business computer security expert Dr. Cihan Cobanoglu who is also the Dean of the School of Hotel & Restaurant Management at USF Sarasota-Manatee, along with  John Jorgensen of Sarasota-based cybersecurity company the Sylint Group, and FBI agent Stacy Arruda, who is in charge of the Tampa Division’s Cyber Crime Program.
