Blueprint for Health Professions Education

Linda de Mello spent the last year working on the Blueprint for Health Professions grant, conducting research locally to find areas of need with regard to healthcare professions and then assessing how USFSM can help to meet some of those needs.

Projected Outcomes: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Business with a Concentration in Elder Care Management (Fall 2012); Masters of Business Administration with Concentration in Quality Management in Health Care (Fall 2012); Bachelor of Science/Master of Science and Certificate in Hospitality Management with a Concentration in Aging Services (Spring 2013); and a Feasibility study of  Master of Science Occupational Therapy program  (2012).

USF Tampa degrees to be offered by USFSM: Second Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Sciences & Disorders (program underway); Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (in development); Proposed Speech/Language and Hearing Clinic at USF Sarasota-Manatee (in development); Proposed collaboration with USF Tampa School of Aging Studies/Long Term Care Administration degree program (in development).

The USF Sarasota-Manatee Center/School for Wellness & Longevity in partnership with USF Health is also in development and expansion of access to Nurse Education is also in progress.
