Is the CSD Program Right for You?
Do you enjoy working with people? Are you intrigued by disorders? Do you have a desire for helping others better themselves? If you answered yes, USFSM’s CSD program might be the right choice for you. This field demands passion for helping people who struggle with communication (hearing and speech). If you have an interest in disabilities and an aptitude for science and language, this could be the degree for you.
At USF Sarasota-Manatee, students in the Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) program can earn a concentration in Speech-Language Sciences and have the opportunity to earn the degree entirely online. This allows for the most flexibility for students with busy schedules, without losing the benefits of a diverse student body, and faculty with expertise in online instruction, clinical practice and research.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ ranks careers achieved by a master’s in CSD as the 4th best-paying career path in 2016, with the highest rank in meaning. According to US News and World Report, CSD has high growth and employment potential, making this degree valuable to graduates who wish to work within this specific field.
Graduates from USFSM’s Communication Sciences & Disorders program are qualified for careers as Speech-Language Pathology Assistants or Audiology Assistants. This degree will also prepare students for graduate school, which can lead to work in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.
