Social workers advise clients through life’s daily challenges and transitions, helping individuals and families find the necessary resources to solve personal problems and improve relationships. They desire to make a difference in the world in a variety of settings, sometimes on the level of domestic conflict, sometimes serving as state and federal investigators.

Social workers operate in private practices, public institutions, as researchers and social policy advocates. They address social issues including domestic violence, poverty, child abuse, homelessness and often work closely with people in a therapeutic setting where excellent listening and problem solving skills are required.
