Business Administration

This Professional MBA is a 40 credit-hour program offered through USF Sarasota-Manatee’s College of Business, which is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This program also offers Saturday classes to allow working professionals’ opportunities to enroll while maintaining full-time careers because of USFSM’s geographical convenience, quality and affordability. With options to start in either Spring or Fall semesters, students can complete either a General MBA or choose an Accounting track. The MBA program is offered on a full-time or a part-time basis and is designed to give graduates the real world training necessary to land a management level position at a business, an organization or a non-profit. Criminal Justice Administration

USFSM’s Criminal Justice Administration program focuses on contemporary issues in criminal justice management and the current challenges facing the field. As a graduate degree, it allows students to apply principles, theories, and research in the field of Criminal Justice to “real world” issues affecting the criminal justice system. The Online Teaching and Learning concentration provides effective online instruction in the fast-growing, innovative field of online learning. Educational Leadership

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership in any of the three concentrations are state-approved programs designed to develop outstanding leaders, supervisors and administrators for the schools of Florida and the nation. This program is designed to provide aspiring school leaders with the tools needed for leadership in the 21st century. The curriculum is current, research-based, and focused on application in the educational setting at all levels. Courses are also taught by faculty with diverse experiences in education including school leadership, district administration and university teaching and research. With flexibility and support in mind, these courses are designed for working professionals. They include face-to-face, online and hybrid classes, making it possible for full-time educators to complete their programs in as few as five semesters. English Education

The M.A. in English Education (MAEE) is designed for those with a Bachelor’s degree in the field of English. Graduates of this program will have a Master’s degree in Education that includes 18 graduate credit hours in English. Students in the MAEE program work closely with faculty in Education and English who are recognized as strong researchers and teachers in literature, composition, instructional design, and human development and learning, with experience in schools and educational organizations. This program is designed for working professionals, featuring strong faculty mentorship and one-on-one advising to give students maximum flexibility. Students expand on their undergraduate background in literature while gaining applied experience in teaching. Coursework and fieldwork prepare students to apply effective teaching methods in college and secondary classrooms. The cross-disciplinary sequence of courses explores content areas as well as technologies for the classroom. Hospitality Management

Teaching, Elementary Education

The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) Elementary Education is a program designed to prepare outstanding elementary teachers. The Elementary Education Program is a nationally and regionally accredited with a curriculum that is current, research-based and standards based. Students enter this program after completing baccalaureate degrees in fields other than education. It prepares teacher candidates to meet the needs of diverse student learners through arts integration instructional strategies and English as a Second Language (ESOL) Endorsement. With small class sizes, this program provides teacher candidates with superior education from faculty. Through coursework and supervised field experiences, M.A.T. graduates will enter the teaching profession committed to excellence in teaching and instructional leadership. USFSM and the Sarasota and Manatee school districts have entered into a partnership to ensure that students have a uniquely focused experience within public schools.
